Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many people into the National Football League

That result may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their eight and two competitors

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award

The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to answer

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure produced by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns

Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5 yard season average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Josh Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, disciplined, balanced Bills we've seen this season

Miami have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of something, but for the Bills they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East

Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Regarding the Patriots, they're among three eight and two teams in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their combined 24 victories coming against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their pair of losses came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight victories, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was significant

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves credit for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to success

The defensive unit is reliable and rookie running back Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown

Although you can debate who 'the best' is statistically, the Pats should be favorites to end with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule

The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jaguars to face. There's a long way to travel but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Showdown

Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each scored forty points to go to seven and two before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in LA

They've both won four in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defenses allowing fewer than twenty points a game

Both could easily be without a loss as too - especially the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the best sides in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date

Player of the Week - Taylor

Taylor could be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 yards, registering three scores and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
