That Grisly Animated Movie Ending That Stays With Viewers

Out of all the mature cartoon movies I have ever viewed, no other has stuck with me quite like the dread-soaked conclusion of a viscerally violent as well as overwhelingly transgressive film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spain-based filmmaker crafted a dark, bleak and often savage universe that included some tiny , forlorn twinges of optimism.

Although The Unicorn Wars appears as it came from an impulse to push the medium even more, the filmmaker stated that it was rather a try to convey a widespread, cross-cultural theme regarding “the shared root of all wars.”

That message is expressed via a group of colorful pastel bears , obviously inspired by a famous series of lovable figures.

Growing up in a society centered on aggression as well as the defense industry, many of the bears are fixated on exterminating the mythical beasts, due to a sacred text that claims the bears they previously were masters of the woodland, until these creatures expelled them.

Some haven’t fully fallen for the brainwashing, , would rather experiment with drugs or mate in the forest.

In contrast to their friendly equivalents, these vivid animals have visible genitals , definite libidos.

For one notably brutal, cynical bear, the character Bluey, the conflict against the unicorns turns into a road to power — and particularly to authority over his more tender, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

This bear behaves aggressively and an apparent psychopath , and as terror dominates his group and claims his teammates individually, he takes increasingly influence for himself, via progressively violent, harmful methods.

At the same time, the unicorns are enduring their own nightmare, through a growing, harmful creature in their habitat.

“At the beginning, it appears as a humorous movie,” the director said. “However it turns into a more dramatic and sorrowful film. And by the end, it transforms into a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars commences resembling one of the most playful films from a renowned animator, that discover a wicked pleasure in letting animated figures curse, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Afterward it turns into more akin to a bleaker movie from that director, featuring progressively explicit brutality and a noticeable link to the real tragedy of war.

By the end, it becomes a complete extreme drama carnage.

The fear that makes the film a Halloween-friendly watch starts well before than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is suited for the devoted gorehounds, for fans of intense movies who want to see a film they haven’t ever watched previously, and are able to withstand a narrative which delivers unflinching brutality.

Watch it with the lights off without any distractions, and the conclusion will burrow under your skin and stay with you.
