Trump Calls Families of Shot Guard Soldiers to the White House

Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her family and they were ā€œdevastatedā€.

Details on the Heartbreaking Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state Guard.

ā€œI stated: ā€˜When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,ā€ Trump told the press. ā€œAnd likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.ā€

Community Support

Community members came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to aid law enforcement in the capital.

She carried herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,ā€ Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. ā€œShe was kind, caring and always willing to assist people.ā€

Service plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event caused the government to suspend asylum applications and cease granting visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of the Airman

The airman, a native of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is ā€œbattling to surviveā€, the state’s governor the governor mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.
